Yoav Gallant, Israeli defense minister, has ordered a complete blockade of the Gaza strip, declaring to cutt-off the already restricted territory of about two million people after the massive attack by Palestinian militant group, Hamas, in Israel, which has claimed the lives of over 700 people.
Hamas is the militant group that controls the Gaza strip, a densely populated coastal Palestinian enclave and home to more than 2 million people. The Hamas have ruled the strip since 2007 and has attempted 4 wars against Israel since the rule.
“I have ordered a complete siege on the Gaza strip. There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed”, the defense minister declared.
Israel says the blockade is needed to protect it’s citizens from Hamas.
