‘It’s fake’ — NDC denies reports of primary election winners

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed as false and misleading reports circulating on social media claiming that winners have emerged from the party’s primary elections.

In a statement issued by the party’s National Secretary, Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, the NDC clarified that its primary elections are scheduled to hold on May 29, 2026, making it impossible for any authentic results or winners to have been declared beforehand.

The party described the purported results currently in circulation as fake and urged members of the public, supporters, and party faithful to disregard them entirely.

“It is therefore impossible and illogical for any primary results or winners to have emerged when the primaries are yet to take place,” the statement said.

The NDC emphasized that only information released through its official channels should be considered credible, warning against the spread of unverified reports capable of misleading the public.

Reaffirming its commitment to a transparent and credible electoral process, the party appealed to all registered members and supporters to remain vigilant and rely solely on official communications regarding the conduct and outcome of the primaries.

The statement was signed by Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, National Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
