Jermaine Jackson’s son cast as Michael Jackson in new film

Jermaine Jackson’s son, Jaafar Jackson has been cast to portray his late uncle, Michael Jackson, in the upcoming biopic “Michael.”

The film, directed by Antoine Fuqua, is expected to depict the complicated legacy of the man who became known as the King of Pop.

Jaafar is a 26-year-old actor and musician. He is the second-youngest son of Jermaine Jackson and his ex-wife Alejandra Oaziaza. He has appeared in several television shows and films, including “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “Grown-ish.”

In a statement on Instagram, Jaafar said he was “humbled and honoured to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life. To all the fans around the world, I’ll see you soon,” he said.

Producer Graham King, whose credits include “Bohemian Rhapsody,” said the team conducted a worldwide casting search before finding Jaafar Jackson. “He has the incredible talent and charisma to bring Michael Jackson to life on screen,” King said.

The film is scheduled to begin shooting later this year. It is expected to be released in 2024.

Katherine Jackson, Michael Jackson’s mother, expressed her excitement about Jaafar’s casting, saying that he carries on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers.

However, some sceptics have said that the casting of Jaafar is sure to be met with mixed reactions. So far, none has been reported.
