Jigawa man commits suicide after four months in marriage

Usman Sani Goga, 30, a photographer has hung himself in Babura Local government, Jigawa State.

Late Goga’s father confirmed the incident, stating that it happened on Wednesday at Akula Quarters, Babura.

He added that Goga hung himself in his bedroom with a rope.

Also confirming the incident, the NSCDC spokesperson, CSC. Adamu Shehu said late Goga’s wife claimed that her husband had left her off at a relative’s home that day at about 2 p.m. and promised to pick her up later that evening.

Narrating the ordeal, the wife said she called him repeatedly over the phone with no response and decided to take a cab.

She got home and realised she did not have the house keys and had to call her husband again, with no response.

She added that she gained access to the house with the help of a bike man and saw her husband’s motorbike parked outside, which was very unusual.

She “hurried inside” and “saw his body hanging from a ceiling fan hook” in their bedroom.

The body was eventually taken down with the help of neighbours and security operatives. He was also rushed to the hospital where it was confirmed that he had died, CSC Adamu Shehu noted.

He claimed that the reason for Goga’s action was unknown and that an investigation was ongoing to determine the cause of his demise.

However, reports gathered showed that late Goga was happily married and had just been so for about four months.
