Kaduna gov asks northern politicians to apologise to the people

Kaduna Governor Uba Sani has stated that northern politicians have failed the region and must apologise to the people.

In an interview with TRUST TV, Sani emphasized the need for constructive criticism rooted in the interest of the people, rather than driven by a quest for power.

Acknowledging Past Failures
Sani admitted being part of the system and acknowledged that northern Nigeria’s challenges stem from decades of underdevelopment and neglect.

He cited his experience as a senator and chairman of a committee on banking, highlighting the region’s poverty index and financial exclusion.

Systemic Exclusion
The governor noted that despite massive social intervention spending under former President Muhammadu Buhari, the region grew even worse due to systemic exclusion.

He emphasized that 70% of the population in northern Nigeria, especially the masses, were financially excluded.

Call for Honesty
Sani urged political leaders to avoid deceiving citizens with dishonest claims and expressed respect for critics who speak truthfully and uphold genuine ethical principles.

He specifically mentioned Dan Bello Galadanchi as an example of someone with the moral right to criticize the government.
