Kano gov suspends aide over ‘inflammatory’ remarks about Kwankwaso

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has suspended Ibrahim Rabi’u, a Senior Special Reporter (SSR) in the Ministry of Transportation, due to what the government describes as unguarded utterances.

The state administration also issued a query to the suspended aide concerning his recent inflammatory comments on the purported defection of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The suspension takes immediate effect and was officially announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, on Saturday.

In a statement released by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the state government emphasized the importance of disciplined communication among political appointees. It reiterated that all official remarks must undergo proper clearance before being made public.

The statement clarified that the government distances itself from the remarks attributed to the suspended aide, labeling them as personal opinions lacking authorization.

“The government cautions all political appointees against unauthorized comments, especially those made outside their jurisdiction. Any political appointee must receive clearance before issuing public statements on matters pertaining to the government’s position on issues of public significance or sensitive political decisions,” the statement emphasized.
