Ademorin Aliu Kuye has dissociated himself from claims alleging that he is parading himself as the Awujale-elect under the sponsorship or endorsement of the Ogun State Government.
In a rejoinder issued on his behalf by Alhaji Mosuro Adesalu, Olori-Ebi of the Abasi Odunsi Atomotele Family, Kuye described the allegation as misleading, unfounded and malicious.
The statement said Kuye has at no time presented himself, directly or indirectly, as the Awujale-elect, nor authorised any individual, group or platform to do so on his behalf. It added that any insinuation suggesting he is acting in such a capacity is false and intended to misinform the public.
According to the statement, Kuye remains a law-abiding citizen who holds the traditional institution in high regard and respects due process, constituted authorities and the long-standing customs guiding chieftaincy matters.
“He would never engage in any action capable of undermining the integrity of the traditional stool or bringing disrepute to the State Government,” the statement read.
The rejoinder also addressed certain Waka lyrics currently circulating, allegedly composed by an unidentified musician, which have been linked to Kuye.
Kuye categorically denied commissioning, authorising, endorsing or having prior knowledge of the musical content. He stated that any attempt to associate his name, image or reputation with the lyrics is unauthorised and misleading.
“He bears no responsibility for the creation, distribution or promotion of the lyrics in question,” the statement added, urging the public, supporters and stakeholders to disregard claims suggesting his involvement.
The statement further disclosed that appropriate steps are being considered to address any misuse of his name or reputation.
Kuye reaffirmed his commitment to peace, unity and the continued progress of Ijebu Ode, Ijebu Land, Ogun State and Nigeria, while advising the public to refrain from spreading unverified information capable of causing unnecessary tension or misunderstanding.
