Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has denied reports claiming he was disqualified from participating in the All Progressives Congress senatorial primary election.

Reacting in a Facebook post on Monday, the former senator described the report as “fallacious” and expressed surprise that such a claim was published without proper verification.

According to him, he immediately contacted the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, to seek clarification over the development.

“I have neither withdrawn nor been disqualified,” the former lawmaker stated.

Murray-Bruce also urged media organisations to prioritise accuracy and verification in their reporting, especially during what he described as “very fluid times.”

He cautioned journalists against prioritising speed over professionalism, stressing the importance of responsible reportage.

The former senator ended his statement with prayers for Nigeria.
