| Beat APGA in the two polling units
House of Representatives member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Hon. Afam Victor Ogene, yesterday delivered the two polling units in his community, despite an overall woeful performance by the Labour Party.
In his PU 007, Ihuani, Obeagwe where Hon. Ogene voted, Labour Party earned 47 votes, followed by the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA with 25 votes, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, 14.
In the other polling unit located at the community’s primary school, Hon. Ogene’s Labour Party also won, securing 41 votes, trailed by APGA with 28 votes and APC with nine votes.
The Young Progressives Party, YPP made an impressive showing at the polls, securing a total of 25 votes in the sleepy community.
Speaking after casting his vote, Hon. Ogene commended the general peaceful atmosphere that attended the election and expressed the hope that the final outcome will reflect the wishes of the people.
“Equity does not favour the indolent. In the run-up to November 8, the people of Anambra State saw the robust campaign mounted by the Governor Charles Soludo-led All Progressives Grand Alliance, as against the sloppy challenge offered by opposing candidates.
“Fact is, though Governor Soludo may not be liked on the streets of Anambra State, owing to his hard mien and some unpopular decisions, the truth remains that he was the most prepared for last Saturday’s gubernatorial election.”
