Henry Okoye, elder brother of the defunct music duo P-Square, has revealed that their late mother, Josephine Okoye, opposed Jude Okoye’s decision to manage Peter and Paul’s music career.

Speaking in an interview with social commentator Jos Connection at the Okoye family residence in Plateau State, Henry said he was the one who initially supported and sponsored the twins when they were struggling to establish themselves in music.

According to him, Jude was not involved in the early stages of P-Square’s career. Henry said he travelled with the duo for performances and promotional activities and supported them financially as a family member.

He said Jude later expressed interest in managing the brothers, a move he claimed their mother objected to.

Henry also alleged that Peter and Paul had promised him a 20 per cent share of their earnings as recognition for his early support, but that Jude subsequently intervened and cancelled the arrangement.

He expressed sadness over the prolonged dispute among the siblings and said he would welcome a reconciliation between Peter and Paul, although he was doubtful it would happen.

“Paul was a very kind person,” Henry said, recalling his brother’s earlier disposition.

He appealed to Jude to help restore peace within the family and settle the disagreements among the siblings.

P-Square, made up of Peter and Paul Okoye, effectively split in 2017 before reuniting in 2021. The brothers fell out again in 2024.

The family dispute has also spilled into the courts, with Jude arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2025 over alleged fraud involving N1.38 billion, $1 million and £34,537.59. He pleaded not guilty, and the case remains before the court.
