The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed its readiness for its forthcoming National Convention following key resolutions reached at the 107th meeting of its National Executive Committee (NEC) held in Abuja on Monday.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the NEC expressed satisfaction with the successful conduct of the party’s Ward, Local Government Area (LGA), State, and Zonal Congresses nationwide, describing the exercises as peaceful, transparent, and credible. The committee subsequently ratified the reports from the congresses and commended party leaders, electoral committees, stakeholders, and members for their commitment to due process.

The NEC also reviewed the ongoing electronic registration of members and praised the progress recorded so far. It reiterated its commitment to building a credible, technology-driven membership database and urged members across the country to actively participate in the exercise.

On party structure, the NEC affirmed the zoning formula for national elective positions, noting that it aligns with the PDP’s principles of equity, fairness, inclusiveness, and national balance. The zoning arrangement, it said, will guide the forthcoming National Convention.

The committee further disclosed that the sale of nomination forms for the convention has commenced, advising all interested aspirants to adhere strictly to the approved guidelines and timelines.

Reaffirming its preparedness, the NEC directed all relevant organs and committees of the party to ensure seamless coordination for a successful convention, themed “A Convention of Inclusiveness, Unity and Renewal.”

The NEC also emphasized the supremacy of the party, calling on members to remain united, disciplined, and committed to its collective interest.
Expressing confidence in the PDP’s renewed strength and organizational capacity, the committee assured Nigerians of the party’s readiness to provide purposeful leadership and national direction.
