The Niger Police Command has nabbed a 23-year-old Victoria Akinnowonu, an online vendor, for scamming at least 73 people.

According to a statement released by the police on Sunday, the online vendor posts items such as clothes, bags, shoes, phones, laptops and other electronic devices to draw customers.

Akinnowonu admitted to gathering a sizable online customer base that frequently made orders for similar things. She continued by saying that despite receiving payment for several orders, she was unable to complete them and deliver to customers.

Meanwhile, since Akinnowonu’s arrest, the police reported that roughly 72 people have come forward to make statements about how they were scammed by her.

The suspect is currently being questioned at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna.
