Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Fubara announced the move on Tuesday evening, saying it was a gesture of appreciation for the “overwhelming support” Rivers State has received from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

His defection puts an end to months of speculation, confirming widespread beliefs that joining the APC was part of the peace deal brokered between him and the President.
