Jeremiah Yakubu, the parish priest of the Holy Trinity, Kauru Local Government Area (LGA) in southern Kaduna, has reportedly been captured and taken hostage by terrorists.
Emmanuel Okolo, the archivist of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, who disclosed this to newsmen on Monday hinted that the priest was captured late on Sunday at about 11pm, at the parish rectory.
Okolo who said himself and the entire church are pained by the incident called for calm as he advised parishioners and all concerned to resist the urge to take laws into their hands.
He appealed to all concerned to pray intensely for the swift and safe release of the abductee.
The archivist promised that they will explore all legal means to ensure father Yakubu returns speedily and in one piece.
