Tinubu hails Soludo’s re-election, describes victory as proof of visionary leadership

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his re-election as the Governor of Anambra State, describing his victory as an affirmation of visionary leadership and the confidence of the people in his administration.

In a statement released from the State House on Sunday, President Tinubu said Soludo’s overwhelming victory at Saturday’s governorship poll has made him the third governor in Anambra’s history to win a second term.

The President commended the people of Anambra State, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring the peaceful and credible conduct of the election.

“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance,” Tinubu said.

He praised Soludo’s governance style, noting that the former Central Bank Governor has successfully applied academic and technocratic principles to public administration.

“Governor Soludo, the Solution, has demonstrated that indeed knowledge is power and that academic principles can be applied in serving the people, undergirding accountability, transparency and prudent management of people and resources,” the President added.

Tinubu recalled his visit to Anambra in May, where he inaugurated some projects executed by the Soludo administration. “I highlighted the good thinking behind the landmark projects being embarked upon by Mr Solution. That experience is indeed remarkable and will remain indelible in my mind,” he said.

He commended Soludo for bringing “discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective” to governance in Anambra, noting that under his leadership, the state is living up to its motto as the “Light of the Nation.”

The President urged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to seek the cooperation of his opponents, assuring him of continued federal support.

“The victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance in the election again demonstrates the vitality of our political system and the fact that victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be encumbered or denied,” Tinubu stated.

The President also lauded the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what he described as a credible and transparent election, urging the commission to sustain and build upon its performance to further strengthen Nigeria’s democracy.
