President Bola Tinubu has expressed sympathy with traders and residents of following a devastating fire outbreak at the .
The fire, which reportedly started on Saturday evening, raged into Sunday morning, causing extensive damage to the popular food market and leaving many traders counting their losses.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the President described the incident as tragic, noting that he had earlier contacted the Kano State Governor, , to obtain a situation report on the incident.
Tinubu said he was particularly alarmed that the latest outbreak occurred less than two weeks after a previous fire had destroyed dozens of shops and properties at the same market.
The President has therefore directed a comprehensive investigation into the recurring market fires, which he noted often leave traders devastated and in despair.
