President Donald Trump has acknowledged Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, as a “very respected woman” during the 74th Annual National Prayer Breakfast held on Capitol Hill.
Mrs Tinubu met the U.S. President at the event on Thursday, where Trump invited her to join him on stage, drawing applause from the audience. Introducing her, he described the First Lady as a Christian pastor at what he referred to as the largest church in Nigeria.
“We’re honoured to be joined today by the First Lady of Nigeria, who also happens to serve as a Christian pastor at the largest church in Nigeria. A very respected woman. First Lady, please, where are you? Thank you very much,” Trump said.
The remarks highlighted Mrs Tinubu’s dual role as a national leader and religious figure, underscoring her growing prominence both within Nigeria and on the international stage.
