Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has lauded President Bola Tinubu for restoring democratic governance in Rivers State following the lifting of the state of emergency imposed on the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike said the President’s intervention reaffirmed his commitment to peace, stability, and the sustenance of democracy in Nigeria.
According to the Minister, Tinubu’s decisive action not only safeguarded Rivers State but also strengthened the confidence of its people in his leadership.
Wike praised the residents of the state for their continuous support for the President, urging them to remain steadfast in backing his efforts to return the nation to the path of growth and development.
He also called on stakeholders to put aside differences and work collectively for the greater good of Rivers State, cautioning against attempts by “fifth columnists” to exploit crisis situations for selfish gain.
“From Rivers State going forward, the only news that will emanate will be that of peace, progress, and development,” Wike declared.
