The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed the arrest of the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele.

In a video seen by Newspread, the apex bank chief was apprehended outside the capital, driven to the airport in a truck, straight into the waiting door of a chattered jet.

Confirming the development, DSS spokesperson, Dr Peter Afunanya said the top banker who has been accused of funding terrorism and other allegations is now in their custody.

EMEFIELE, NOW IN DSS CUSTODY

The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in its custody for some investigative reasons.

The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this.
