A fuel station named ‘Oyoyo’, located on Kaduna-Abuja Road, Suleja has been sealed by the Niger State division of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) because it was reportedly used to keep Indian hemp.

In a statement made on Saturday by Mr. Musa Bwalin, the State Commander of the NDLEA in Minna, the security guard and some of the fuel station employees have been arrested pending further investigation.

Bwalin added that the suspects would thereafter be taken to court to face charges.

According to the state commander, the agency has detained 250 suspected drug traffickers, 64 of whom have been found guilty.

He claimed that 1,2072 kilogrammes of illegal substances were found and that the operatives in Suleja Area Unit also seized 2,272 kilogrammes of Indian hemp that was en route to the Federal Capotal Territory, Abuja.

Bwalin also disclosed that after several searches on some suspected “black spots” where the illegal drugs had been used, the unit in charge in the state was able to seize 2,218.02 kilogrammes of Indian hemp in total.

Pledging that the agency will continue to make the state unsuitable for drug traffickers, the commander also pleaded with the Niger State Governor, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago, to provide the Command with functional cars to help them eliminate the trade and usage of illegal substances in the state.
