Controversial musician, Azeez Fashola, well known as Naira Marley has issued a legal notice to popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, demanding a public apology and N500 million in damages for defamation of character.

The legal action comes in response to a series of videos posted by Iyabo Ojo on various social media platforms, in which she allegedly made several false and damaging statements about Naira Marley’s personal life.

Olalekan Ojo (SAN) & Co, representing Naira Marley wrote that Ojos’s statements have caused significant harm to Naira Marley’s reputation and professional standing.

The letter stated that in an Instagram post published in September 2023, Iyabo had accused Naira Marley of dealing with the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, spiritually, mentally and physically.

Marley’s lawyer further demanded that the actress publish an apology on her official Instagram account and in a national daily within 7 days of receiving the letter. Failure to do this, the statement threatened would result to commencement of legal action and a demand of damages of N500 million.

Iyabo Ojo has yet to respond publicly to the action against her. However, the development has sparked significant public interest and debate in the entertainment industry.
