A police officer, Simon Igba has received the corpses of his wife and mother-in-law, who were both abducted two weeks ago from the couple’s home in Dei-dei, near Mopol barracks, along kubwa express road, Abuja.
The officer’s wife, Christiana Igba, her month old baby and mother, Maria Agbo, who visited Abuja from Benue, to celebrate the birth of her grandchild, as this was the couple’s first child born after being married for 10 years.
An insider who spoke on condition of anonymity told Newspread that the kidnappers had earlier contacted the officer, demanding the sum of N90million as ransom, to secure the release of the abductees.
The source further disclosed that they were able to reach a compromise of N10m as ransom to secure the release of the abductees and asked the officer to get the agreed sum ready before 10 am on Thursday, January 25.
Things, however, took a different turn as the kidnappers called the police officer before the agreed time to inform him that his baby fell ill and has been handed over to another victim who had just been released to take to the hospital.
The officer was also informed that the released victim will contact him when she gets to the hospital with the baby, as she was also given his number.
Further, the source said: “The hospital called Igba and he went there and recovered his baby.
“A few hours later, we received a report that Christiana and her mother had been killed and their bodies dumped somewhere.
“Some police officers went there, recovered the corpses and deposited them at the Kubwa General Hospital.”
