In a surprising and joyous development, the fifty pupils abducted from St. Mary’s Secondary and Primary School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State, have safely reunited with their families.

The children, seized during a violent attack by armed bandits, reportedly managed to flee their captors after several harrowing days in captivity. Although the exact circumstances of their escape remain unclear, community members confirmed that the pupils returned in batches, triggering celebrations across Papiri and nearby settlements.

Overwhelmed parents and guardians rushed to the community as news of the children’s return spread, many breaking down in tears of relief as they embraced loved ones they had feared lost.
