President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday held separate closed-door meetings with Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Gboyega Oyetola at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Akpabio arrived at the Villa around 6:12pm, while Oyetola later joined the meeting alongside Alhassan Doguwa, a member of the House of Representatives representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency of Kano State.
Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dele Alake was also seen at the Villa during the period.
The purpose of the meetings was not immediately disclosed. However, Oyetola’s visit comes days after his successor, Ademola Adeleke, was re-elected governor of Osun State in a closely contested election.
The meetings also took place on the eve of the commencement of political campaigns for the 2027 general elections. The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed August 19 for the official start of campaigns.
A Federal Executive Council meeting is also scheduled to hold on Wednesday.
