The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has described United States President Donald Trump as the best politician he has ever known, saying the American leader is admired for keeping his promises.

Adeboye made the remarks during the US-Nigeria Faith Heroes Award Gala organised by the Save Nigeria Group in Washington on June 23, where he thanked God for Trump and reflected on his leadership style.

According to the cleric, he publicly appealed to the Nigerian government in November last year to take urgent steps after reports that Trump was considering military action against terrorist targets in Nigeria. He noted that while such operations may be precise, innocent civilians often suffer the consequences.

“I have never met Trump, but I have followed him, and I like him,” Adeboye said, adding that although he does not agree with all of Trump’s actions, he respects him for doing what he says he will do.

The pastor disclosed that he shared the same opinion with the United States ambassador during a visit to his residence, explaining that Trump stands out because he fulfils his campaign promises rather than making empty political statements.

Adeboye also said he had similar conversations with President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, urging the Nigerian president to engage with his US counterpart and reassure him of Nigeria’s commitment to tackling terrorism.

He concluded by encouraging leaders to embrace sincerity and decisive action, stressing that credibility is built by matching words with action.
