Anambra pastor arrested for converting 75 married women as wives

Pastor Harrison Charles, founder of Day Spring Assembly in Awada, Onitsha, Anambra State, has been arrested over allegations that he convinced dozens of married women to abandon their husbands and become his wives.

According to reports, the cleric is accused of taking as many as 75 married women as wives and allegedly engaging in wife-swapping practices within his church. The allegations surfaced through viral videos and testimonies from alleged victims and their relatives.

Aide to Anambra State Governor, Dr. Ejimofor Opara, confirmed that the pastor was arrested by operatives of Agunechemba and handed over to the police for investigation. He disclosed that 11 babies were found in the pastor’s residence during the arrest, with Charles claiming to be their father through 11 different wives.

The pastor also reportedly told investigators that he could not determine the total number of wives or children he has. Authorities say a joint investigation involving the police and the Anambra State Government is ongoing, while members of the public with relevant information have been urged to come forward.
