Nentawe Yilwatda and Ajibola Basiru have been re-elected as the national chairman and national secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), respectively, following the party’s fourth elective national convention held in Abuja.
Both officials emerged unopposed, in line with the party’s decision to maintain its existing zoning arrangement for National Working Committee (NWC) positions. The APC had earlier directed aspirants to comply strictly with this formula, which guided the consensus-based selection process.
The convention, themed “Unity in Progress: Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda,” drew key party leaders, including Bola Tinubu, Kashim Shettima, Godswill Akpabio, and Tajudeen Abbas.
Organised by a committee led by Aminu Masari and Anyim Pius Anyim, the event recorded participation from over 8,000 delegates, according to Mohammed Idris, minister of information and national orientation.
