Black American music giants fight dirty over tour

It is no secret that American top musicians, Anita Baker and Babyface are good friends. Sadly, their friendship seems to be going through shaky grounds now, no thanks to what many onlookers have described as overzealous fans.

It was a pleasure to fans of the musicians to learn that both would be going on a tour. However, just days into it, Baker kicked Babyface out of the tour, making his fans to get really upset.

Those in the know said trouble started between the pair after Babyface’s fans felt he wasn’t getting enough performance time on the tour and made their grievances known by cyber bullying Baker.

Baker on the other hand explained that Babyface needed to have explained to his fans that he wasn’t on the tour as a co-headliner but as a support act. The tour she continued was planned to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her debut album “The Songstress”. So, it was her show.

On Tuesday night, Baker had to release a statement on her Twitter handle saying she couldn’t handle the cyber bullying and the fans violent nature any longer. So, in effect, those who only bought tickets because of Babyface would be refunded.

Babyface also released a statement. He said: “I am saddened by the news that Anita Baker has decided to remove me from “The Songstress Tour.” It’s unfortunate and disheartening to see how things have played out via social media. While I was looking forward to the rest of the dates, I have nothing but love & respect for Anita and I wish her the best for the remainder of her tour.”

Fans, especially the black community have called for peace.
