Canadian musician, Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, has sued her ex-lover and Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, over parental rights regarding their three children.

Grimes filed a “petition to establish parental relationship” on September 29 in a California court, requesting that a judge identify the legal parent of their children.

Musk, 52, and 35-year-old Grimes have a 12- year- old son together, named X Æ A-and a daughter born via surrogate in 2021 named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk. They call both children “X” and “Y” respectively. Last month, the couple also had a third child together named Techno Mechanicus, affectionately called Tau, according to reports.

Recall that last month, fans of the couple were shocked when Grimes went on her X handle (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote: “tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer”. The post has been deleted, however.

Grimes’ request as gathered intends to have the court identify the legal parents of a child when they are unmarried.

Although the docket for the case is public, the filings have been sealed, and it does not appear that Musk has responded to Grimes’ petition yet.

The former couple began dating in 2018 and had an on-again, off-again relationship until September 2021 when they split for good.

The case is ongoing, and further details are yet to be revealed.
