Fans and wellwishers of multiple-award winning singer, Celine Dion have started sending “get well” messages to the superstar after her sister, Claudette, shared a heartbreaking update on the singer’s health; saying that they have been unable to find a cure for her rare neurological disorder, Stiff Person Syndrome.
“We’ve been looking for a cure for Celine, but so far, nothing has worked,” Claudette said in an interview with the New York Post. “It’s been very difficult for her, and she’s been in a lot of pain. But she’s a fighter, and she’s not giving up.”
SPS is a rare, incurable disorder that causes muscle spasms and rigidity. It can be very debilitating, making it difficult to walk, talk, and even breathe.
Celine was diagnosed with the syndrome in December 2022. She was forced to cancel her Las Vegas residency and has been largely out of the public eye since then.
In her interview with the New York Post, Claudette said that Celine is still receiving treatment for her condition, but that it has been slow going.
“We’re trying everything we can but it’s a very difficult disease to treat. We just have to keep hoping that one day, we’ll find a cure,” she informed.
Celine’s fans have been sending her messages of support on social media. Many have said that they are inspired by her strength and determination.
“Celine is an inspiration to us all,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “She’s showing us that even when life is tough, you can keep fighting.”
Another fan said, “Celine is a true survivor. She’s been through so much, but she’s never given up. I know she’ll find a cure for her condition.”
Celine has not spoken publicly about her health since her diagnosis. However, her sister’s interview has given fans a much-needed update on her condition.
