Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, the founder and senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church, Lagos has died at the age of 67.

He died in the United States of America. Odukoya, who was also a popular televangelist, died on Tuesday after a brief illness.

His church released the following statement on Tuesday: “The Fountain of Life Church Family, in total submission to the will of God Almighty, announces the passing unto greater glory of our Father, our Teacher, a great servant of the Most High God Pastor Daniel Taiwo Odukoya.

“Founding Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, who passed unto glory on the 8th of August 2023 in the USA. We are in total submission to you LORD!!!

“We thank the Lord for the gift of a great leader!!!”

Odukoya who was born in Lagos in 1956 was the husband of late Pastor Bimbo Odukoya who died in a plane crash in 2005. His second wife, Nomthi, a South African, also passed on in 2021.

Late Odukoya was known for his fiery preaching style and his commitment to social justice. He was a vocal critic of corruption and poverty in Nigeria and he used his platform to promote peace and unity.
