Gifts, employment offer pour in for LASU’s best graduate, Aminat Yusuf

Aminat Imoitesemeh Yusuf, the young lady who graduated as the best student from Lagos State University is not done receiving gifts and accolades yet. Her latest graduation package, this time, is coming from the Edo state government as she has been offered an automatic employment.

Yusuf who was on a visit to the Government House in Benin on Monday studied law at the Lagos State University ( LASU). She made history as the first student in the institution’s 40-year existence to graduate with a perfect Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0 in the institution.

Governor Godwin Obaseki who had first congratulated her last week said his office is eager to see her work in the state; as the state is proposing to write to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) so that she will serve in Edo State and after her Law School studies, she can work permanently in the state.

Furthermore, in a Tweet, he said: “I am honoured to offer our record-setting Miss Yusuf Aminat automatic employment in the state’s public service.

“To complement our efforts to create the best work environment, we intend to attract and retain the best talent. Miss Aminat, we remain proud of you. The world is your oyster!.”

Also on a visit to the Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, on the same day, the Etsako East Edo-born achiever was celebrated for making the state and indigenes proud.

“The accolades she has received since the new broke out, has been a source of inspiration, not only to her family, but also the good people of Etsako East Local Government and, in fact, Edo State. We are proud of her,” he said.

Last week, the Lagos state Governor Rewarded her with a N10 million, after congratulating her for the remarkable achievement. While N5 million was a personal donation, the other was from the state’s coffers.

Yusuf has also received monetary gifts from other Nigerians. A Lagos monarch, the Oniba of Iba Kingdom, Oba Sulaimon Adeshina Raji handed her a N10 million cheque and also assured her of a complete sponsorship through Law School.

Not done yet, the Vice Chancellor of LASU, Prof Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello also promised to give the academic genius N500,000.
