The General Overseer of Freedom Power Chapel International, with headquarters in Yola, Adamawa state, Rev. Mike Ochigbo, has been kidnapped by gunmen.

John Moses, a pastor of the church, was also kidnapped by the unidentified perpetrators.

According to sources, the two religious leaders were attacked and kidnapped on Tuesday night at Rev. Ochigbo’s house in Yola’s Nyibango area.

Confirming the incident, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the state police command’s public relations officer, said that The Special Rapid Response Team (SRRT), Crack Squad, and other tactical squad members of the Adamawa State Police Command have been sent to rescue the victims.

Nguroje added that in a bid to rescue the victims, police agents would conduct a tactical day-and-night operation on criminal hideouts and hotspots around the state.
