On Monday, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), charged a 40-year-old farmer, Zakaria Bulus to a Magistrates’ Court in Kafanchan, Kaduna state for defiling a minor.
The NSCDC prosecutor, Marcus Audu informed the court that the incident was brought before them on June 13 by the young child’s mother who had narrated that her daughter was deceived and taken into an uncompleted building in Ungwan Masara where she was sexually abused.
Audu further stated that after the abuse was made known, the child was taken to the Salama Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Kafanchan.
After the defendant was arrested, he went ahead to confess to his crime.
However, the Chief Magistrate Samson Kwasu, refused to take the plea of the accused. He nevertheless remanded him in the state’s correctional centre and ordered that the prosecutor should take the case file to the State Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice. He then adjourned the case to July 18.
