Man sues in-laws for aiding wife leave their matrimonial home without his consent

Kabiru Muhammad, a resident of Kano state has dragged three of his in-laws before a Shariah court in the state for allegedly aiding his wife to leave their matrimonial home without his consent.

The three relatives dragged before the court sitting in Kano Municipal’s Hotoro Masallachi district on Thursday are Ali Dan Abba, Hadiza Dan Abba, and Haruna Bala Dangwauro.

The plaintiff told the court that he returned home to see his wife had deserted their matrimonial home without his consent.

He also told the court that he was reliably informed that the three defendants had aided his wife to take the action.

However, the wife told the court she left her matrimonial home on her own.

She said she had been ill for a long time and her husband remained unconcerned, so she went to her elder sister’s house in Dambatta LGA, where she can have access to care and be taken to a hospital.

The presiding judge, Kadi Nasir Muhammad Ahmad, ordered that the sick woman be given immediate medical attention, before the case can proceed.
