Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu also known as Ada Owerri is going to be 70 years old in a few weeks time and an announcement for a grand celebration is not going down well with some people who feel it is wrong timing.

Remember that since 2023 began, rumours of her husband, the Governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu, being ill has been flying round. However, barely one week ago, he handed the reins of power to the Deputy Governor and proceeded on a sick leave.

Nevertheless, on Saturday, many eyebrows were raised online when the First Lady of the state announced her milestone which would be celebrated with an exercise session and shindig. The message read thus on her Facebook page: “Her Excellency Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu, the first lady of Ondo State and a 26year breast cancer survivor is using a 50km jog to mark her 70th birthday and promote exercise as a healthy lifestyle for cancer prevention”.

While many have congratulated and poured encomium on the cancer survivor, some asked questions.

“Stop loading anything Madam Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu. All we want to hear is our Governor Arakunrin is medically fit. Not loading anything that is not loadable”, Akin Adekunle Martin’s threw at the First Lady.

Pelumi Slade said: “I hope Arakunrin is getting better?! You don’t need this if he is not…”

Kingsley Daniel said “The real definition of Mother… Happy Birthday in advance ma. You will live long to always receive my homage”.

“That’s awesome. Congratulations, Ma. My shoes are waiting for the unbeatable dancing show”, Michael Abiodun quipped.
