The announcement of Jimmy Odukoya, the first son of the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, as the new General Overseer of the Fountain of Life Church has been met with mixed reactions.

While the younger Odukoya who is a Nollywood actor succeeds his father who passed away recently as the G.O/senior pastor of the church, his sister was announced as an associate pastor by a board member of the church during service on Sunday morning.

On social media however, the news quickly caught up as one of the top trending topics in the country.

@realevabest in his post said: “No surprise, it is and has always been a business. No go create your own business that your own children will inherit, dae there de clap hands in the name of worshiping God”.

“May late Odukoyas rest in peace. I don’t even want to comment on how this whole thing is run like a company, but I thought Jimmy was a Nollywood actor”, @happymama chipped in.

Mazi Ifeanyi decided to wish the young G.O well: “May the lord help him and give him the wisdom to lead his sheep rightly”.

While Shazain said:”😂😂🤣😂🤣. Una dey collect rank for church ⛪️ wonderful business 😂😂😂😂”.

“When a JUJU priest dies, if the JUJU does not call the son, he dare not assume the role of a priest. My father was a traditionalist, boy, he fears his Deity much more than these men fears the almighty. You dare not stand on the alter of a real traditional priest without approval”, Blue moon stated.

Jimmy is well known as a Nollywood actor, model and musician. He is the son of Bimbo and Taiwo Odukoya.

“The board has chosen Saturday, September 30, 2023, as the date of Jimmy’s installation,” the church announced.
