After weeks of detention, music industry figures Sam Larry and Naira Marley have been granted bail. The two were accused of assaulting late singer, Mohbad, which resulted in their remand by a court in Lagos.
Under the terms of their bail, each must provide three sureties with a sum of N20 million. The court further asked them to surrender their international passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Yaba. The court also warned them against further criminal activities.
Larry and Marley have denied the charges against them. Their lawyers have argued that the allegations are false and that the two men are innocent.
Recall that the duo were arrested on their return to Nigeria after they were linked to the death of Mohbad.
Days after the death of the young musician, videos on social media showed Larry physically assaulting the late Mobad, while other videos showed boys suspected to be under the orders of Marley attacking the late rapper.
The case is still ongoing, and it is not yet clear when it will go to trial.
