Oritsejafor reveals cancer battle, says he spent over $120,000 on treatment

Founder of Word of Life Bible Church and former president of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Ayo Oritsejafor, has opened up about his battle with cancer and the extensive treatment he underwent abroad.

Speaking in videos shared online and on his Instagram page, the cleric revealed that he kept his illness away from many members of his church while receiving treatment over several months.

Although he did not disclose the specific type of cancer, Oritsejafor said he spent months on treatment and bed rest, with medical expenses exceeding $120,000.

According to him, he continued attending church programmes and carrying out ministerial duties despite enduring severe pain.

“I was in pain, but I was still doing my best for God. There was cancer in my body. I was laughing, I was smiling,” he said.

The former CAN president disclosed that doctors in the United States informed him that the cancer had spread to other parts of his body, prompting further medical examinations to determine whether it had reached his bones.

He explained that he later returned to Nigeria and participated in a church programme known as Jubilee before travelling back abroad for further treatment after the pain became unbearable.

Oritsejafor said doctors eventually confirmed that the cancer had not spread to his bones, after which treatment commenced immediately.
