The Police in Lagos have announced via its spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin that it is currently on the trail of a musical artiste, Trevboi, who is a former signee of Afrobeats musician, Davido, for allegedly killing a man identified as Kehinde Adesanwo at a bar in Lagos over the weekend.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident happened in the late hours of Sunday at Bar 38 Nightclub in the Fadeyi area of the state.
Trouble started when the suspect decided to leave the establishment without paying the N52,000 he was owing; but as he made to leave, Adesanwo tried to stop him and in anger, he brought out a gun and shot him in the stomach.
The eyewitness who spoke on condition of anonymity for security reasons said, “It was about 9pm. My friends and I were at the bar when suddenly we started hearing arguments.
“It turned out that the management and a customer were arguing over the customer’s debt. He was owing the club N52,000 and when the management asked him to pay, he started shouting and refused.
“Suddenly a fight broke out when he attempted to escape by running out of the club. One of the bouncers ran after him and held him and another fight started.
“In the process, one man, Kehinde Adesanwo, came to intervene and that was how the customer shot him in the stomach.
“It was when the whole place was in confusion that the customer entered his car and escaped”, he explained.
However, the matter was promptly reported at the Onipanu police station and the police arrived the scene to remove the body and commence investigations.
While confirming the incident, Hundeyin wrote: “We commenced investigation minutes after the incident happened. The suspect abandoned his car and fled on foot. The car and the documents in it are in our custody. Investigation is ongoing.”
