Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has once again been sworn-in as the governor of Lagos state.
As he took the oath of office, which was administered by Justice Kazeem Alogba, the Chief Judge of the state, it marks the start of the governor’s second four-year term.
Earlier, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the state’s deputy governor, took the oath of office to begin his second tenure in that position.
At the gubernatorial election, Sanwo-Olu garnered 762,134 votes and was proclaimed the winner. His closest competitor, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, got 312,329 votes. Olajide Adediran, the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, got 62,449 votes, finishing third place.
