‘Stop lying, Im alive and well’ – King Sunny Ade debunks daughter’s false alarm

Legendary Nigerian juju musician, Dr. Sunday Adeniyi-Adegeye, popularly known as King Sunny Ade, has firmly refuted widespread rumours spread by his daughter of his alleged disappearance, describing the claims as false and malicious.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, the music icon addressed reports circulated on Monday by his daughter, Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye and her associates, which falsely alleged that he was missing and infirm.

“I, Dr. Sunday Adeniyi-Adegeye MFR, also known as King Sunny Ade, am alive and well,” he stated emphatically.

He further reassured fans and the general public of his wellbeing, expressing gratitude for the concern and love shown by supporters worldwide. “I am alive, well and grateful for the love and support of my fans,” he said.

The 77-year-old music legend condemned the dissemination of the falsehood, describing it as a calculated attempt to tarnish his image. He called on bloggers and individuals involved in spreading the misinformation to desist immediately or be ready to face legal consequences.

“It is very important to address the falsehood and fabricated news by Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye and her associates and to assure the general public and loved ones that I am alive and safe,” he added.

King Sunny Ade concluded by issuing a stern warning to those attempting to damage his reputation, urging them to cease and desist or face the full wrath of the law.

The music community and fans alike have since expressed relief and support for the veteran artiste, who remains a towering figure in Nigerian music history.
