‘They created the hunger’: Tinubu fires at opposition at Kaduna rally

President Bola Tinubu has blamed opposition politicians for the hunger and poverty confronting Nigerians, insisting that his administration is working to overcome the challenges.

Tinubu spoke on Saturday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign flag-off rally in Kaduna, where he defended his government’s performance and urged Nigerians to re-elect him in 2027.

“I hear my opponents talking about hunger and poverty. Who created it? They did. They created the hunger; they created the poverty. We are trying to eradicate it,” the president said.

He also commended APC governors for their performance, noting that his administration had maintained regular salary payments.

Tinubu dismissed criticism from opposition parties, describing their members as failures who had nothing meaningful to offer Nigerians.

Promising a better economic future, the president said a second term would focus on prosperity, growth, economic recovery and expanded opportunities, particularly for young Nigerians.

“To you, the children of our country, this is a promise of a second term: prosperity. You will not regret voting,” he said.

Tinubu added that Nigerians should not allow hunger and anger to determine their political choices, expressing confidence that his administration would deliver on its promises if re-elected in 2027.
