Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC) in Delta state have blamed over speeding as the cause of death of three people around the Ogwashi-Uku-Kwale Road in the State.
It was learnt that the fatal accident was between a GLK Sport Utility Vehicle with number plate KUJ 326CE, and a bus with the inscription St. Philip’s Anglican Church, Asaba.
Those who witnessed the accident revealed that the Sport Utility Vehicle smashed into the bus and immediately killed three people. Other occupants sustained various degrees of injuries.
According to one eyewitness: “The GLK SUV collided with the bus, and three persons died, others sustained serious injuries.”
Another witness further informed that the state’s Deputy Governor, Monday Onyeme, had to stop his entourage on his way to Kwale to show support for those affected.
Speaking further, the Sector Commander of the FRSC adviced motorist to be more careful while using the road.
