President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following forgery allegations leveled against him.
Nnaji, who was appointed to the federal cabinet in August 2023, tendered his resignation in a letter addressed to the President, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation.
In his letter, the minister stated that he had become a target of political blackmail, which prompted his decision to step down.
President Tinubu, while acknowledging the resignation, thanked Nnaji for his service and wished him success in his future endeavours.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
