Tinubu mourns victims of Afriland Towers fire, condoles with FIRS, UBA, United Capital

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the families of victims and organisations affected by Tuesday’s fire outbreak at Afriland Towers on Broad Street, Lagos Island.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President commiserated with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), United Capital Plc, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, and Afriland Properties Limited over the tragic incident.

President Tinubu extended his sympathies to the bereaved families and wished those who sustained injuries a speedy recovery.

The President also commended emergency responders, including the Federal Fire Service, first aiders, medical personnel, and members of the public, for their swift intervention during the evacuation exercise.

Calling for greater caution and preparedness, President Tinubu advised that more training and alertness are necessary to avert such tragedies in the future.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and divine comfort for their families.
