President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after a ten-day working visit to Lagos and other parts of the country, during which he engaged with key investors, attended major national events, and commissioned several projects.
The President arrived in Lagos on Friday, September 26, following his attendance at the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, in Ibadan.
While in Lagos, President Tinubu held strategic meetings with leading investors, including Bayo Ogunlesi, Chief Executive Officer of Global Infrastructure Partners, and Keem Belo-Osagie, former Chairman of United Bank for Africa and Etisalat, and now Chairman of Metis Capital Partners.
He also received the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, alongside the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and other maritime sector heads. During the meeting, the President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to developing Nigeria’s maritime industry as a strong alternative to fossil energy.
On the eve of Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary, President Tinubu travelled to Imo State, where he commissioned projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma and unveiled a book authored by the governor chronicling ten years of APC governance in Nigeria.
The President delivered his Independence Day national broadcast from the State House, Dodan Barracks, Lagos, and later commissioned the renovated National Theatre, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts. He urged Nigerians to speak positively about their country and continue to believe in its promise.
On Saturday, October 4, President Tinubu was in Jos, Plateau State, to attend the burial of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of APC chairman Professor Nantawe Yilwatda. At the ceremony, he paid tribute to the late matriarch and reassured Christian communities in Northern Nigeria of his government’s commitment to fairness, equity, and unity among all religious groups.
The President’s engagements across multiple states underscore his administration’s focus on economic diplomacy, national unity, and cultural renewal.
