A senior officer in the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General, I.M. Ahmadu, has passed on while running during the Second Annual Physical Training Test for 2023.
The incident happened on Monday at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) in Jaji, Kaduna State.
According to a military source, Ahmadu fell while running and was rushed to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death is still unknown, but the source said that Ahmadu had no known health conditions.
Ahmadu was an Artillery Officer and was currently serving in the Army Headquarters Department of Special Services and Programmes. He was a graduate of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and had served in various military formations in Nigeria.

“His name is Brigadier General I.M. Ahmadu, an Artillery Officer currently serving in the Army Headquarters Department of Special Services and Programmes.
“The General has however been buried this evening according to Islamic rite,” the military source disclosed on Monday.
The Nigerian Army has not yet release an official statement on the death of their personnel.
