Taiwo Ishola has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly kidnapping and killing two sons of his younger brother named Idowu.
It was gathered that Taiwo kidnapped the boys aged 9 and 7 from a village named Abata and killed them in a bush in the Mile 6 area of Ajebo, both in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
A source who wish to remain anonymous whilst narrating the incident said Idowu, the father of the kids was reliably informed the kids were last seen with his elder brother Taiwo, after he raised an alarm on Tuesday that his kids Promise (aged 9) and Testimony (aged 7) were missing since weekend.
The source added that at first the father of kids and members of community were not really bothered and nobody suspected anything, as numerous sources said they saw the kids being taken away by their uncle, Taiwo.
The anonymous source further revealed that on contacting Taiwo, he deneied seeing or being in custody of the kids and a search for the missing kids began.
After a fruitless search, everyone became suspicious and Idowu was advised to report to the police.
Another source simply identified as Mama Halimat said it was the involvement of the police that exposed Taiwo as the brain behind the disappearance of his nephews.
Mama Halimat said several people confirmed they saw Taiwo with the kids and the outcome of Police investigation revealing he killed the kids is shocking.
She added: “How will somebody do that to his brother? We don’t know why he did it. Until we know, I can’t say much about it. But the man should face the wrath of the law.”
When contacted on Thursday, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident.
She said on receiving the report, the police immediately went after Taiwo, who upon his arrest, confessed to committing the crime.
