American musician, Willy Junior Maxwell II popularly known as Fetty Wap has been sentenced to six years in prison. The young rapper who came into prominence in 2015 with the monster hit, “Trap Queen” had been involved in a federal drug trafficking case since his arrest in October 2021.

After he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute about 500 grams of cocaine, the judge on Wednesday not only sentenced him to six years behind bars but also sentenced him to five years post- release supervision.

TMZ had reported that U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Breon Peace pleaded with the judge to sentence him somewhere between 7 and 9 years, saying the rapper took part in a big drug trafficking organization that operate freely in Long Island with banned drugs and other substances. However, the judge in his wisdom saw it wise to put him away for only six years.

In October 2021, Fetty was apprehended as he set out to Rolling Loud, New York. The government accused him and many of his cronies of using USPS trucks to smuggle cocaine. After a search, 16 kilogrammes of cocaine were recovered from him.
